Slinger Signaller (A40)
The Slinger/Signaller course is designed to give you the knowledge required to direct the crane using recognised signalling systems, and to ensure that loads are ‘as safe in the air as they are on the ground’.
We have now developed a ‘Foundation Plus’ course which is five days in duration. This will give candidates more practical training time to give greater preparation for the CPCS Practical Test, and to enhance post-course knowledge and skills.
The number of learning outcomes have increased and these include key requirements for marshalling of plant, controlling loads during pick-and-carry duties and knowledge of when additional skills for particular lifting operations are required.
We can offer training and testing on endorsements A and B with 3, 4 and 5 days courses dependant on candidates previous experience.
||For those that are new to working with cranes
||For those that have worked with cranes, but have done little or no slinging or signalling
||For those with extensive experience of slinging loads and signalling cranes (using hand signals and radios). Limited practical training.
The course must be followed up by an NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations – Slinger/Signaller (Construction), within two years. This will award you with a CPCS Competent Operator card for Slinger/Signaller.
After gaining experience within lifting operations you may wish to progress to attending a Crane Supervisor or Appointed Person course.
Other options for this course:
Reduced course durations may be available for those with vast experience of slinging and signalling. This course can be done without the CPCS Technical Test, which would award Emerson certification.
