Scope of Works
Bridge Installation: Sizewell C
A significant milestone in the project was the successful installation of a 102-metre modular bridge, designed to connect the Temporary Construction Area (TCA) with the Main Construction Area (MCA).
Emerson Crane Hire supported these works by supplying:
- LTM1450
- LTM1090
These cranes were utilised to complete complex lifting operations required for the bridge installation. The structure now provides a vital link within the site, reducing pressure on local road networks and improving the movement of vehicles and plant.
This achievement was delivered on schedule in March 2026, demonstrating strong coordination and collaboration across all project partners.
Supporting Major Works at Hinkley Point C
In addition to Sizewell C, Emerson has an extensive track record supporting nuclear infrastructure projects, including long-term involvement at Hinkley Point C.
Over a period of approximately 10 years, Emerson has delivered a range of civil engineering lifting operations, including:
- Installation of precast concrete culverts along the sea wall
- Ongoing support using heavy lifting equipment such as the LTM1110
- Deployment of a variety of cranes to meet evolving project requirements
